Berdasarkan Peta Zona Seismik untuk perencanaan penetuan beban gempa pada bangunan pengairan di Indonesia yang dipublikasikan oleh Dirjen Pengairan tahun 2004, maka lokasi PLTM Pagerpelah untuk periode ulang 100 tahun mempunyai parameter untuk perhitungan koefisien gempa sebagai berikut :
Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan di atas maka koefisien gempa yang terjadi untuk periode ulang 10-500 tahun adalah dapat dilihat pada table berikut.
