III.8 MATERIAL KONSTRUKSI
Pengambilan material pasir dan batu untuk keperluan material penyusun beton atau pasangan batu dapat diambil pada lokasi quarry terdekat. Material tersebut sebaiknya juga diuji dilaboratorium untuk mengetahui sifat fisik maupun mekanik sebagai bahan agregat beton. Material batu untuk agregat kasar beton dapat dilihat pada Gambar III.29 dan III.30. Sedang untuk material pasir (agregat halus) sebaiknya diambil dari hasil crushing material batu.
Material pasir yang diambil pada sungai Kaliurang (sepanjang lokasi proyek) tidak dapat digunakan sebagai bahan beton, karena tercampur dengan pecahan-pecahan napal dan serpih yang lunak (Gambar III-31).
